AliReviews: import AliExpress reviews to your Shopify store
AliReviews by Zegsu imports AliExpress and Amazon product reviews into your Shopify store. What it does, how to set it up and how to use imported reviews well.

AliReviews is a Shopify app from Zegsu that imports product reviews from AliExpress and Amazon into your store and shows them on your product pages. It is built for stores that sell products also sold on those marketplaces, often dropshipping stores, which launch new products with no reviews of their own yet.
This page explains what the app does, how to set it up, and how to use imported reviews in a way that helps shoppers rather than misleading them.
Looking for a different app? Several review apps on the Shopify App Store have similar names. This article is about AliReviews: AliExpress Reviews by Zegsu, listed at apps.shopify.com/ali-reviews-aliexpress-reviews-app.
What AliReviews does
Everything in this list is taken from the app's Shopify App Store listing:
- Import reviews from AliExpress and Amazon. Pick the product on the marketplace and import its reviews into the matching product in your store.
- Show reviews in a widget on your product pages and home page.
- Ask your own customers for photo reviews with automated review request emails.
- Show review stars in Google Shopping, through your Google Shopping feed.
- Photo review pop-ups that show recent reviews as people browse, on desktop and mobile.
- CSV import, for reviews you already have in a spreadsheet (on the paid plan).
Plans
There is a free plan, which limits how many reviews you can import per product and how many products you can import reviews for. The paid plan removes those limits and adds the customisable widget, CSV import, rich snippets for Google and the review pop-ups. Current prices and limits are on the App Store listing.
How to set up AliReviews
- Install the app from its Shopify App Store page and approve the permissions it asks for.
- Find the source product on AliExpress or Amazon. Use the listing for exactly the item you sell, from the supplier you buy it from.
- Import its reviews into the matching product in your store, from the app.
- Read what you imported. Remove reviews that mention a different colour, size, seller or shipping experience than the one your customers will get.
- Add the review widget to your theme. On current Shopify themes, app widgets are added in the theme editor: in your Shopify admin go to Online Store > Themes, click Customize and add the app's block to your product page template.
- Turn on review request emails, so new reviews from your own customers start replacing imported ones over time.
- Check a product page on your phone before you call it done. Most shoppers will see your reviews on a small screen.
Using imported reviews well
Imported reviews are a starting point: they show shoppers what other buyers of the same item thought, before your own customers have had a chance to say anything. They work best when they are relevant and honest.
- Only import reviews for the identical product. A review of a similar item from another seller tells your shopper nothing useful about what you will send them.
- Don't rewrite reviews. Fixing an obvious typo is one thing; changing what a reviewer said is another. Keep the rating and the substance as written.
- Keep the negative ones that are about the product. A page with only five-star reviews looks less credible than one with a few honest three-star reviews. Remove reviews about a marketplace seller's shipping or service, which won't apply to your store.
- Make your own reviews the goal. Turn on the review request emails from day one. Reviews from people who bought from you are the ones that reflect your packaging, delivery times and support.
- Know the rules where you sell. Consumer protection rules in many countries treat misleading reviews seriously. If in doubt, label imported reviews with their source and check the guidance for your market.
