Why verify COD orders
Cash on delivery lets more people buy from you, but cancelled and bogus COD orders cost money: the parcel ships, nobody pays, and it comes back (return to origin, or RTO).
COD checks an order before you ship it. The customer confirms with a one-time code sent by SMS or WhatsApp. If the code can't be delivered, an automated IVR call verifies the order instead.
Charge for cash on delivery
You can also add a fee to every cash on delivery order, to cover the extra cost of collecting payment at the door.
